This post is a little late, but here goes anyway. Bullet points are my original points, subpoints are feedback, sub-sub-points are my own notes.
Is Navajo (chain) plying truly weaker than traditional 3-ply, and if so, why?
It's pretty cool to really understand what factors make one thing better than another. Even though I don't know what this means exactly, I like the idea.
exploring the tensile strength of handspun yarn
I don't know much about handspun yarn but it seems like an interesting idea to compare the strength and explore what factors will change it.
glad this is not a completely terrible idea !
Jasmine's Idea
I guess one thing limiting me in asking questions is that I have very little idea of what this is, I assume you are planning to explain this later though.
I definitely think this is the kind of thing where some degree of visuals is required to explain to the uninitiated. I feel like it might be a waste of time to try to fully explain things with words, honestly, which is why I'm waiting on materials before even trying to make that sort of educational material. Getting definitions up was not initially my top priority for this project, but it's probably something that I should start working on.
Overall, yeah, this is all a pretty niche project. It will probably be necessary to spend some time defining factors in my final project, so allocating some time to that might become a problem. Given shipping time, I think I might start working on busting out simple definitions and explanations next week (assuming I finish researching this week, which... might not happen).
