FO Friday: jack of all trades, master of none

...but better than a master of one (hopefully)

I got a fair bit of work done this week, I guess.

By which I mean, I did about 0.00000000001% of the necessary work on a lot of different things.

plying style overview

I recorded a really quick video here if you need any clarification regarding the yarns I've spun.

experiment

I have done one trial on each of the yarns. Honestly, I'm a bit shocked by the numbers, so there's going to have to be a bit of reading in my future. (Which I realize I've said a lot recently, but I really really mean it this time.)

video

I've gotten a solid amount of video footage. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen (I am the type of person who can absolutely end up with too much content).

While doing the experiment, I actively filmed what I was doing and explained my thoughts on the process. The audio quality isn't great, since I'm working outside and I am not about to demand that my neighbours all halt their lives so that I can dump water into a bucket. It's possible that I'll have to record voiceovers later.

I also filmed some content to explain sort of what I'm doing, so that it hopefully makes a bit more sense when I talk about things.

secondary research

A bit of progress here, but seriously, not much. This is all posted in the blog, so I'm not going to go into detail, but basically... the blog post might count as a 'finished object', but the research itself is the furthest thing from done.

compilation posts

I've been meaning to do some compilations for a while, and having to hand in blog posts has been the perfect motivator.

Except that they're really not very good. So. There's that.

In any case, I've written up some quick compilations for both primary and secondary research progress. I will probably still try to get around to writing nicer ones later on down the road, once the bulk of the work is finished.

Right now, though, I need to go do some more research about both tensile strength and incinerating trash, so I am going to leave this here.
